The Hacienda is also available year-round as a photoshoot location (inquire to book the hacienda for your next shoot). Located just twenty minutes from Joshua Tree national park’s west entrance, this is a place for dreamers to reflect, reset, and create. With french doors heading out to the cactus garden and cowboy tub, you’ll wake up to open desert views and native wildlife. This bedroom has a king sized bed and lounge area featuring artwork by Aleksandra Zee.

They are all available for nightly stays or photoshoots. The Cabin is a remote 1958 original homestead cabin that is 100% solar powered that is located 20 mins from the west entrance of Joshua Tree National Park and about 15 minutes to downtown Joshua Tree, CA. We imagine most guests will want to stay on site at the inn to experience the pool, hot spring, labyrinth, on-site trails, wildlife, cactus garden, rooftop patios, and starry night sky. Though, if you’re up for more adventures we’d definitely recommend heading to Saguaro National Park, the Desert Museum (also less than 10 mins away), and take a gorgeous drive through Gates Pass on the way to the city of Tucson itself.

Please inquire for more information on personal or brand photoshoots. We’re located in West Tucson, about a 30 min drive from the gem show and downtown. Many trailheads in the national park are just a few minute drive from The JTH Tucson. With french doors heading out to a private courtyard and hot tub, this bedroom is light and airy and features artwork by painter Heather Day. The original house is located conveniently in town, while the casita, hacienda and cabin are located 15 minutes away in a rural setting. After we completed renovations, we listed the house on Airbnb to share with others who also craved time to reflect, reset, and create.

The canyon pool is solar heated to lengthen the season, and you’ll find May through September are ideal months for comfortable pool temperatures. The canyon pool is located in the back courtyard of the inn. Our small inn, lovingly nicknamed the Posada, is situated on 38 acres of land with a forest of Saguaro cactus, canyon pool, hot springs style hot tub, cactus garden, walking trails, and an abundance of wildlife. This is a space to reflect, reset, and create and is available for individual nightly stays as well as full buyouts for friend & family gatherings, retreats, and micro-weddings. It’s a hot spring style hot tub, created by the original owner and builder who also did groundbreaking rock work at the nearby Desert Museum.

The History of JTH Tucson: Before & After

French doors on two sides of this bedroom seamlessly connect indoor and outdoor living. Wake up to views of rock formations and open desert views from a queen sized Casper mattress. Enjoy the silence of evenings in the desert out in the hot tub surrounded by intensely starry skies, and sleep sound on the mattresses by Casper after a hike through Joshua Tree National Park.

Please keep in mind, these are add-on experiences and are pending the availability of each vendor. "Courtney is a gem! — a warm, attentive, and knowledgable host. With the inn, Rich and Sara have created a special place where nature, rugged adventure, and casual luxury combine. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay." "When one stays here, you can't help but feel inspired to do something great with your life - to chase a dream as these hoteliers have evidently done."

Located in the high desert of southern California, the town is easily recognizable by its namesake tree. Bordering Joshua Tree national park, the town of Joshua Tree is a small community made up of artists, musicians, and explorers. Upon entering town you’ll be greeted with a laid back energy and small locally owned businesses such as Joshua Tree Health Foods, the Joshua Tree Saloon, Crossroads Cafe, Country Kitchen, Bkb Ceramics, Joshua Tree Coffee Company, and Instant Karma Yoga. The Inn has everything from lush desert landscape to a canyon pool, cactus gardens and southwestern desert decor for perfect photoshoot backdrop.

Upon entering the city of Tucson, you’ll be greeted by a creative energy and many independently owned businesses. Some of our favorite places to check out in the city are the Arizona Sonora Desert Museum, MSA Annex, The Coronet, Tito & Pep, Bata, San Xavier Mission, Penca, Falora, Midtown Mercantile, and the Loft Cinema. As much as we love pets, the inn is not pet friendly in an effort to conserve the quiet experience of a stay here. However, properly documented service animals are welcome. Unfortunately as a very small team we’re unable to offer tours, but truly the best way to experience the inn is during a stay. We have connections with many local vendors which we share with our guests in advance of your stay.

We found there was so much of a desire for this experience that soon we were unable to stay at the house ourselves (without carving out time months in advance). Long story short, we ended up moving to Joshua Tree full-time into a separate home to focus on creating experiences for others to enjoy in the desert (read more about our ideal day in joshua tree). We have since also designed the Casita, and the Hacienda available for stays and photoshoots. This bedroom looks out to open desert views and the in-ground swimming pool, a magical morning scene. The Casita is available to rent on Airbnb year-round, and sleeps up to four guests. This tiny home is 424 sq ft which includes a Queen size bedroom nook, full bathroom, fully stocked kitchen, and a living room with a wood burning fireplace.

Our locations have everything from open desert landscape to cactus gardens and southwestern desert decor for a perfect photoshoot backdrop. The Hacienda is reserved exclusively for photoshoots for convenient availability, however all locations are photoshoot friendly. A two bed, one bath 1958 hacienda located rurally and 15 minutes from downtown.

It is available to rent occasionally and was designed by Sara Combs and Rich Combs. The Casita is a two bedroom, one bath 1958 home located in a remote location in Joshua Tree, CA. Though, once most guests arrive to the Casita they choose to stay mostly on the property as a personal retreat—hiking through the surrounding boulders, and cooking in the open kitchen. It is available to rent on Airbnb®, and was designed by Sara Combs and Rich Combs. The Joshua Tree House is a 1949 hacienda that sleeps four with one bedroom and two bathrooms in the main house, along with a second detached bedroom. Located only 10 minutes from the west entrance of Joshua Tree National Park in Joshua Tree, CA, this is a place for dreamers to reset, reflect, and create.

In the winter months it’s heated to around 100 degrees, and in the summer months it’s in the mid 90’s as a warm pool. The hot spring is located in the front garden of the inn and is also available for the use of all overnight guests. The Hacienda is available to rent on Airbnb select dates each year, and sleeps up to four guests.

HBO's House of Ho Season 2 Promises More Family Drama and More Hos

He proposed to her right at the end of Season 1, and Season 2 dives back into their evolving relationship. The comments, even as part of a roast, were notable given Mr. Biden has forbidden his aides to talk publicly about Mr. Trump’s legal troubles. But they also came as Mr. Biden has ramped up his attacks on Mr. Trump, sharpening the split-screen between a president on the campaign trail and a former president spending his days in a courtroom. Minho Kim spoke to protesters outside the event, and Zach Montague reported from the dinner. After a series of speakers addressed the rally, a large portion of the crowd moved into the street between the north edge of Prospect Park and the Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Memorial Arch, blocking the flow of traffic and prompting drivers to lean on their horns. Police officers who had been monitoring the event warned the demonstrators that they would be arrested if they did not move; when they stayed put, officers wielding zip-tie handcuffs moved in and began making arrests.

Tina is Binh's sister, and compared to her brother, she’s much less conservative. She wears short dresses, dyes her hair purple, and parties with the newly divorced Judy in Season 1. She quickly became a fan favorite of the show, inspiring an entire video titled “Aunt Tina’s Funniest Moments.” She’s undoubtedly going to be a scene-stealer in Season 2, as well. Today, it looks like Washington spends a ton of time with his kids, Roosevelt and Lincoln, and his wife, Lesley. Per Deadline, Binh Ho is described as the "super strict patriarch" with "nothing but good intentions." As their daughter Judy explained in the House of Ho trailer, her parents were refugees who immigrated from Vietnam in 1975. The annual dinner at the Washington Hilton Hotel provided a break to journalists and government officials from their normal jousting for a night of glitz and gossip in celebration of the free press.

As a result of his move, Johnson could face a vote on his ouster in the coming weeks.

Instead, they offer financial support without recognizing her emotional needs, and continue to suggest that she make amends towards her ex-husband for the sake of her children. "Since season one, a lot was shown, like our family cooking together and the traditions that we have like [celebrating] Lunar New Year—those are things that we've always done," Judy Ho tells Houstonia. "Being on the show from season one to season two, that hasn't changed. It's 100 percent real. This is our life, and this is how we genuinely live, day to day." The society that runs it certainly wants us to think so—haunted house tours and a popular interactive play capitalize on the 1929 scandal in which the owner of the mansion, oil heir Ned Doheny, died in a mysterious murder-suicide with his boyhood friend and employee. Doheny’s father was mired in the Teacup Dome Scandal at the time, and the deaths meant that he was excused from testifying; rumors also abounded that Ned, who was married with children, was trying to cover up a same-sex affair. Either way, a tour of this 55-room Tudor estate is a good way to get a glimpse into the lives of LA’s historical 1%—costly slate clads the façade and walkways, the windows are leaded glass and guests were entertained in the bowling alley and two movie theaters.

After graduating from Berkeley, Kim returned to Houston to be with her family and is studying to become a dermatologist. Though Kim’s parents are not featured in the series, Kim still wanted to bring up her relationship with her family, especially being torn between keeping up with tradition and just trying to be true to herself as an Asian American.

Saturday's vote marked the first time the House had approved billions of dollars in Ukraine aid since December 2022, when Democrats still controlled the chamber. The bill is widely expected to pass the Senate in the coming days, as it generally mirrors a $95.3 billion national security bill passed by the upper chamber in February. Under Johnson's unconventional plan, the Ukraine bill will be sent to the Senate as part of a package that includes aid for Israel and Taiwan and a third bill that forces a sale of TikTok and allows the United States to confiscate Russian assets. The Ukraine aid bill came to the floor after months of delay and despite staunch opposition from the hard right, including a threat from Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene to call a vote to oust House Speaker Mike Johnson if he allowed such a vote.

It housed his office and two families on a small 60 x 70-foot lot. Where would we be without those energetic civic boosters that built Los Angeles? The prolific Charles Fletcher Lummis founded the Southwest Museum, was an editor at the Los Angeles Times, and still managed to design this house (the name of which means “the Sycamore” in Spanish) on the banks of the Arroyo Seco. Its exterior is made almost entirely from river rock and the interior is heavily influenced by Pueblo Indian dwellings. Fans of today’s DIY movement will appreciate the rustic Craftsman charm of this home, which is furnished with hand-crafted wood pieces; it’s interesting to see how closely modern-day bohemian design mirrors that of Lummis House.

The Ho family is led by patriarch Binh Ho and wife, Hue, who moved to the US following the Vietnam War. After settling in Houston, savvy businessman Binh amassed a fortune through real estate development and investments, and now the family lives a lavish lifestyle befitting 2022 reality stars. Neutra was something of a control-freak as a designer—he made recommendations to his clients that included the ideal flowers to display, and would occasionally make unannounced visits to see how, exactly, people were living in his homes.

Now House of Ho is back for Season 2, and it’s bringing in new family members — California-based younger cousins Kim and Bella Ho — and delving further into topics like divorce, sobriety, and IVF struggles. "I think the biggest misconception is that we're doing this all for show and we're trying to represent ourselves as a bunch of crazy rich Asians," Washington said to People. "This is just how we live, and we're not trying to portray anything else except be[ing] as authentic as possible with all production going around so that we can inspire other Asians to be able to open up, be vulnerable." Meanwhile, on the east side, Hyatt and Relevant Group will open tommie Hollywood at 6516 Selma Ave., adjacent to Thompson Hollywood, in early December. The lobby will showcase works from artists Bradley Duncan, Bruce Rubenstein, Valerie Wilcox and Ellie Pitts. Steinberg Hart handled the architecture with Studio Collective responsible for the interior design.

Dreamy Guest House Plans Every Visitor Will Love

Guest house plans range in style, and also in size and amenities. When searching for the perfect guest house plan, consider not only your preferences, but also the potential needs of your guests. If planning for elderly guests, a single floor plan with large open spaces is ideal. If you’re searching for a plan that can accommodate many visitors, look for guest house plans with multiple bedrooms or bunkrooms. Put yourself in the guests’ shoes and think about what you would value in a guest home that you were staying in.

High-End, Luxury Flooring Options Fit For a Dream Home

Guest house plans such as this are a great option if you are building for an elderly family member to live with you. With such a wide array of guest house plans to choose from, you’re bound to find one that fits your home and style. You and your guests will enjoy relaxing after a long day of visiting and activities, and there is nothing better than to offer them a retreat of their own. The days of stressful visits and entertaining for long periods of time can be over! Guest houses don’t only have to be for temporary visitors, either.

And with plans in all shapes and sizes, there is a guest house plan out there for everyone. Guests will request visits to your Cedar Creek Guest House (SL-1450). This house plan is another example of a guest house that allows for independent living with its designated bedroom, kitchen and living room, full bath, and walk-in closet.

Guest homes are often smaller than the main home on the property. With this in mind, it’s essential to utilize your space to the fullest extent. This may mean investing in furniture that doubles as a storage unit, such as an ottoman that can be both additional seating and linen storage. This storage style can be disguised as a purposeful design element that allows you to stow everything your guests may need.

Luxurious touches are throughout the small guest cottage Birkland . Its modern exterior is eye-catching while it's interior will leave guests feeling welcome and comfortable. The living room can be separated from the kitchen by a sliding barn door. At the back of the floor plan is a vaulted bedroom and full bathroom. This small guest house would also make an ideal cottage for college aged children or rented out as an accessory dwelling unit.

And when choosing your guest house plans, feel free to choose one of our more spacious designs! While your guests love having their own private house to stay in, you’ll love the extra living space and storage that it gives you at other times. The Fontanel Bunkie (SL-1857) is an ideal plan for someone who needs just a little extra space, 317 square feet to be exact.

These days, there are many great options for renting out properties you own online, so you can make a few bucks here and there without having to do much work. If you have a guest house, you can rent this out, and you never have to leave the area. This way, you’re able to keep an eye on your guest home plans, while also still making money from providing a safe and comfortable place for visitors to stay. Every inch works hard in this 300-square-foot cabin, a miniature version of our 2013 Idea House at Fontanel in Nashville. This pint-size Southern farmhouse features a breezy front porch just big enough for a cafe table.

As a host, something is disconcerting about waking up and having to tip-toe through your own house to avoid waking people up. As a guest, there is the discomfort of sleeping on a couch and the slight embarrassment that comes with waking up to find people looking at you. This efficient, well-appointed cottage has us dreaming of the next family beach vacation. A cozy kitchen, living room, and full-length front porch provide everything your guests need. The Lowcountry-inspired Palmetto Cottage is bursting with coastal charm. It was designed with Southern hospitality in mind, featuring a welcoming front porch, an eat-in kitchen, and a vaulted entertaining area that keeps the interiors feeling light and airy.

They’ll enjoy the ease of making a cup of coffee early in the morning and greeting the day from the comfort of the screened porch before heading to the main house. When looking for guest house plans, search for ones with unique spaces that will help make visits that much more relaxing for everyone. If you are in need of added space, maybe a room for a teenager to stay in, or a place for noisy workout equipment, garage guest house plans might be a great option. There are times throughout life when a family member will need to live with you.

cody's public house chicago

After working up an appetite from a heated round of bocce, Cody’s doesn’t have a kitchen but does invite you to bring your own food and propane to barbeque on their Grill Master. We did this once at a going away party and it worked out beautifully, although we found you’ll want to get your grilling done before it gets dark as it gets hard to tell when you’re food is done in the dim lighting. Cody’s beer garden at has been recently updated and remodeled for the summer. Known to have one of the greatest outdoor bars in Chicago, the most important aspect of Cody’s has not changed.

Over the years, the former mortgage company partners had been through the wringer while navigating the volatile restaurant industry, dealing with everything from hurricanes to oil spills. That’s why when Gene Frankowski, who opened Cody’s in 1986, closed the bar in 2019, Bagley set his sights on giving Cody’s new life. Red Door Tavern Group, which operates other bars like the Graystone Tavern and the Rambler Kitchen + Tap, bought the bar’s building this September and reopened Cody’s in December with updated amenities. Bagley’s team also installed a state-of-the-art tap system featuring 16 beers on draft, as opposed to the 12 offered in Cody’s.

Cody’s Public House still has its unique, classic atmosphere and neighborhood beer garden vibes! There is a very good reason we chose to hang onto Cody’s corner tap ambience – our loyal customers! People who seek out bars with patios prefer them since there is the kind of comradery they have come to appreciate throughout the decades. Customers also like the fact that they can bring along their dog, their significant other, or both! Even better, Cody’s beer garden is able to accommodate up to 100 guests. Former owner Gene Frankowski purchased the bar in 1986 and ran it for over 30 years as Cody’s Public House, named after his dog, until closing in 2019. Frankowski sold the building to Red Door Tavern Group (The Graystone Tavern, The Rambler Kitchen + Tap) in September 2021, who promised to honor the bar’s history with restorations of its elements while adding updated amenities. Cocktails include the Black Manhattan with Piggyback Rye Whiskey, Amaro Montenegro, bitters, orange bitters and brandied cherry; an old fashioned with Pink Hook Bourbon, Angostura bitters and simple syrup with an orange twist; and an espresso martini.

Bagley and his team have restored many of the bar’s original elements, like the antique Schlitz chandeliers that hang throughout Cody’s, while introducing minor improvements. All in all, Cody’s is the “quintessential neighborhood bar,” in the words of Chicago Magazine reviewer, Penny Pollack, and was awarded Best Darts by The Official Chicago Bar Guide (2001). If you’re up for a cheap pint, game of darts or to bask in the glory of their bocce ball beer garden, Cody’s is the place for you. Watch out for the German Shepherd-Husky-coyote mix of a dog that romps through dart games in progress and kicks up a fuss until petted. Those were replaced with larger windows for better ventilation, Bagley said. Farm-style siding was added to the outside of the building, and a fresh coat of dark green paint was added inside. The bar’s authentic tin ceiling has been repainted copper, and the original backbar sconces have been repurposed as pendant lights, Bagley said. Its pool table and jukebox have also been upgraded, while the two dart boards and artwork have been cleaned and polished.

Thanks for subscribing to Block Club Chicago, an independent, 501(c)(3), journalist-run newsroom. “Most people who have spent any time in Chicago have a story about Cody’s, and everyone who’s come in says how much they remember this place, but that it feels so much better now,” Bagley said.

“As soon as we sold as part of the franchise agreement, we had to take all the signs down and we couldn’t serve another meal,” Stan Sofer said on April 3 from his office not far from the now shuttered 300-seat eatery located at 2890 W. He added they offered the out-of-state owners of the eight-franchise company the right to purchase the longtime local hot spot first. The bar now has a dedicated game room featuring darts, Golden Tee and Big Buck Hunter. The room, which can hold about 30 people, is available for rentals and private parties, Bagley said.
